Serve at Compass Church
There’s a place for you on the team!
At Compass Church, we believe church is more than a Sunday service, it’s a family where everyone has a part to play. With a wide range of ministries and teams, there are so many ways to get involved and use your time, gifts and passion to make a difference.
Whether you're great with people, love working behind the scenes, or want to grow in something new, there's a space for you to serve.
Why Serve?
-
Serving is one of the most practical ways to grow in your faith
-
Serving helps build God’s Kingdom right here in Wellingborough
-
Serving brings you closer to Jesus — because He came to serve, not to be served!

Take a look through the different teams and consider where God might be leading you to get stuck in. We can’t wait to serve alongside you!
Where can I serve?
Here's a little more detail on each team and what that entails

Kids Church Team
(Sundays)
Roles: Leader, Assistant and Check in Desk.
Leaders run teaching, games, crafts, and worship. Assistants support activities, transitions, and tidy-up. Check-In team welcomes families and handles registration. Together, we create a safe, fun, and loving space where kids can grow in faith and friendship.

Tea & Coffee Team
(Sundays)
This role helps set the stage for fellowship after each service. You’ll prepare tea and coffee, set everything out ready to serve people after the services. A simple act of service that makes a big difference in helping people connect and feel welcomed and valued.

Meal Train Team
Our Meal Train Team provides meals for individuals and families who could use extra support: whether they've welcomed a new baby, are recovering from hospital, or walking through a difficult season.
By joining this team, you'll be added to our contact list. When a need arises, you'll receive an email with all the details and a link to sign up for a specific day. Participation is always optional, you can serve whenever it works for you.

Seasonal Ministries – The Bible Course
Similar to Alpha, but focused on a course exploring the Bible. You’ll help facilitate, perhaps lead discussion groups, support with prep and follow up, helping people engage thoughtfully. It tends to be more teaching/discussion oriented. If you express an interest in helping we will be in touch when we next arrange a course.

Coffee & Chat
(Friday Morning once a month)
This is a more relaxed, social serving role. Setting up coffee/tea, welcoming people, helping facilitate conversations, maybe helping with light snacks, tidying up. Great if you enjoy being hospitable in an informal setting.

Photography and Video Editing
Help capture the life of our church through a lens! This role isn’t about covering every Sunday, but stepping in when we need updated photos for the website or social media, or to document special events. Your eye for detail will help us share our story and show others what being part of our church family looks like.

Use your creativity with video to help us tell powerful stories. This could mean filming special events, creating highlight reels, or producing short clips for social media and the website. You might also edit videos for online content, helping us keep things fresh and engaging for people both inside and outside the church.

Sermon Editing & Uploading
Each week’s sermon is recorded, and this role is all about making it accessible. You’ll edit the audio file and upload it to the members’ section of the website so people can listen back and stay connected, even if they missed the service.

You’ll collaborate with others, attend rehearsals, follow the worship leader’s guidance, and ensure your playing supports the congregation in worshipping the Lord.

Love technology, visuals or communications? In this team you might run slides (lyrics, notices etc), manage on-screen content, coordinate with the worship team and leaders, help with screens & live camera feed, or switch visuals during worship. You help make sure what people see enhances the worship service.

Take church beyond the building! Serve on the outdoor worship team, help with setup/pack-down, or chat with people about faith. It’s a chance to share God’s love practically and invite the community to encounter Jesus. We’ll contact you when the next event is coming up.
